Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, New York
I first photographed Woodlawn back in the summer of 2010 and was lucky enough to have one of those photos selected to be a part of an exhibit at Lehman College Art Gallery.
A friend and I decided to revisit the cemetery shortly after Hurricane Sandy hit New York. Downed trees were scattered all over the place - massive trees, literally bowed over and split, creating arches and barricades and gaping holes in the landscape. The cemetery held onto its beauty, however. Kept its residents safe, I suppose.
